SUMMARY:Combining Academy and Practice: A UAS Professorship
DESCRIPTION:A professorship at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) unites both academia and professional practice. Through applied research\, you may become a driving force for innovation in society and business in this role. In practice- and project-based teaching\, you will train students and equip them with a wide range of skills to meet tomorrow’s challenges. Importantly\, a UAS professorship allows for transitions across your lifetime.In this virtual lunch talk\, Frank Dellmann introduces you to Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS)— the most common type of university in Germany in term of numbers. He will discuss professorship appointment requirements\, prerequisites and processes\, and present a new format called tandem professorship (in German ‘Tandemprofessur’ or ‘Nachwuchsprofessur’). This format is designed to provide postdocs with professional experience outside of higher education in order to meet the requirements for a UAS professorship.
