Innovating Hearing Health Technology from Ear to Brain to Society (Hearing4all.connects)

Hearing4all has been funded since 2012 and is currently in its third funding period. As a joint initiative of Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Medizinische Hochschule Hannover and Leibniz Universität Hannover as well as several non-university partners, it has evolved into a leading consortium for hearing research that connects ear, brain, and society.
Building on fundamental and model-based research, Hearing4all.connects integrates neuroscience, genetics, psychology, linguistics, data science, AI, engineering, medical physics, and ENT medicine to develop causal, predictive, and personalized approaches to hearing care across the life course. Its research spans the full pathway from molecular mechanisms and advanced hearing technologies to brain health, communication, and social participation in real-world settings, supported by a unique translational ecosystem that accelerates transfer from research to clinical and societal impact.
