Leibniz PostDoc Network
The Leibniz PostDoc Network brings together all postdoctoral researchers from across the Leibniz Association to support each other in their career development, to advocate shared values and to improve the scientific culture. To achieve this, we've established seven dynamic working groups, tackling topics that matter a lot: 1) Survey, 2) Communication, 3) Infrastructure, 4) Work & health, 5) Career development, 6) Diversity and inclusion and 7) Sustainability.

I am Tanja, a postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim, Germany. I joined the Leibniz PostDoc Network to connect with my peers, to empower and support each other in an – in many cases – uncertain career phase. As a spokesperson, I like to advocate for the needs of the Leibniz PostDocs and create resources and offerings to meet those needs. For example, I created and co-organized the series “Coffee talks on career paths for PostDocs” in which Leibniz alumni are invited to talk about their careers inside and outside academia to spark new ideas regarding career development.
I am Shyam Krishnan, a postdoctoral scientist at the Hans Knöll Institute (HKI) in Jena, Germany. I joined the Leibniz PostDoc Network (LPN), realizing the importance of a supportive community for early-career researchers. As a spokesperson, I advocate for postdocs' professional development and well-being. Through various initiatives, I intend to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, enhance career development opportunities, and create a more supportive, dynamic environment for our postdocs.
